Electric Bike Safety

E-Bike and E-Scooter Safety Information

E-bikes and e-scooters are convenient ways to travel, commute, and enjoy daily rides. To help ensure a safe riding experience, please follow all product instructions, use proper protective equipment, and comply with applicable Brazilian traffic rules and local regulations.

1. Follow Local Riding Rules

Riding requirements in Brazil may vary depending on the product type, motor power, maximum speed, throttle operation, and local city or state regulations.

Some electric bicycles may be treated similarly to regular bicycles when they meet applicable requirements. Higher-powered or faster electric vehicles may be classified differently and may require registration, licensing, helmet use, license plates, or other conditions.

Customers are responsible for checking and following local laws before purchase and use, including rules related to age, helmet use, road access, bike lanes, speed limits, registration, licensing, and permitted riding areas.

2. Battery and Charging Safety
  • Only use the charger supplied with or approved for your product.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s charging instructions carefully.
  • Do not charge the battery while sleeping or when no one is nearby.
  • Unplug the charger once the battery is fully charged.
  • Do not use batteries that have been modified, repaired by unauthorized personnel, damaged, or exposed to water or excessive moisture.
  • Only use approved replacement batteries and parts.
  • Do not dispose of lithium batteries in household trash. Follow local battery recycling or hazardous waste disposal rules.
3. Pre-Ride Safety Check

Before each ride, inspect your e-bike or e-scooter to make sure it is safe to use.

  • Check the brakes, tires, handlebar, throttle, display, lights, bell or horn, cables, and frame.
  • Make sure the battery is properly secured.
  • Do not ride if you notice loose parts, unusual noises, visible damage, or electrical issues.
  • Review the product manual and follow all weight, age, and usage recommendations.
4. Safe Riding Practices
  • Wear a properly fitted helmet and other protective gear when riding.
  • Ride at a safe speed and stay aware of vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and road conditions.
  • Use lights, reflectors, and the bell or horn when needed to help others see and hear you.
  • Avoid sudden or unpredictable movements.
  • Slow down on uneven surfaces, bumps, wet roads, or areas with limited visibility.
  • Keep both hands on the handlebars while riding.
  • Do not carry extra riders unless the product is specifically designed for that use.
  • Never ride under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or substances that may affect your judgment or control.
5. Road Awareness

E-bikes and e-scooters can be smaller and quieter than cars or motorcycles, so other road users may not always notice you.

  • Assume that drivers and pedestrians may not see you.
  • Use extra caution at intersections, driveways, parking areas, and shared spaces.
  • Follow traffic signals, signs, and local road-use rules.
  • Use bike lanes or permitted riding areas where available and legally allowed.
6. Important Reminder

Riding’times products are designed with safety and quality in mind. However, product classification, riding requirements, and permitted riding areas may vary by product model and location in Brazil. Please check the rules in your city or state before riding.
